The Quran calls itself Light (Nur) and a light does not need any external source or aid to make itself visible. It makes itself evident, and also exposes the reality of those things which are within its domain.
Attributes of Allah.
Meaning: The word ‘Allah’, the proper name of God, indicates that Allah is the true God who alone deserves to be worshipped, whom all creatures worship out of love, praise His greatness, revere Him and turn to Him in times of need and adversity. In fact, this name comprises all the meanings of His beautiful names. Occurrence: 2724 times. Evidence: “Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I; therefore, worship Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance.” (Surat Taa Haa, 20:14)
NOTE: In Christianity. The Aramaic word for "God" in the language of Assyrian Christians is ʼĔlāhā, or Alaha. Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, use the word "Allah" to mean "God".
PTT or Path To Totality, Decode life.
In this program, I will talk about the Quran, the words of the Quran from its Lexicon. The segments will discuss the books on Islam, Muslims, and their cultures. The information will also come from the scholars who have invested their lives in the research and understanding of the Quran and the tradition. We will learn to apply it to our daily life. For example what is ordained in the Quran about fasting?
The purpose of this life is not to be stressed and live with fear but to be fulfilled and live joyfully. Service to others is one of the biggest lessons that I have learned from the Islamic faith.
As a student of the Quran, I have received the feedback from diverse group of people who would like to learn the basics of the Quran and Islam. Moreover, living in the United States, there is a need of the people, especially in the current times, who are from multiple faiths and cultures that want to learn about Islam, Muslims, women in Islam, Hijab, Jihad, Halal vs. Kosher, and all the other related topics. I have been speaking about Islam and Muslim culture in general and conducting events in various communities around in the area of Greater Boston, Massachusetts since more than 7 years. In my experience, people are yearning to learn and am I too.
I don’t claim to be an Islamic scholar or Alima (female Islamic scholar) at this point, however, I have been in the process of learning the tradition from numerous well renowned Islamic scholars from various regions whose message I may forward with my understanding.
The goal is to reach through all the wisdom, teachings, scriptures and paths that have come across in my lifetime which direct me to the ultimate PATH TO TOTALITY. That is what I want to discuss and explore. I respect all the previous scriptures that were revealed before the Quran but do not follow them the way I do follow the Quran. However, anything that coincides with the wisdom of the Quran and the tradition helps me to respect the former scriptures. I am in the process of learning and understanding the Quran and do not deem capable enough at this point to claim that I have understood the full Quran. It is a rich book that I interact and look to connect in my daily life. With time the Quran is encouraging me to ruminate and utilize it as a guide and a manual to live as best as I can with my limitations. However, my understanding is evolving and growing. So, I welcome students like me to join in conversations and interact in order to expand our mindsets and improve our lives.
